Yugoslavian Mountain Hound Information
The Yugoslavian Mountain Hound originated in the Former Yugoslavia in the 1700's. This is an old breed whose ancestors may have been brought to the Adriatic by the Phoenicians. Selective breeding in different parts of the region has given rise to the diversity of hound breeds seen there today.
The Yugoslavian Mountain Hound has a keen sense of smell, an athletic build, and a good voice- all of which make this dog an excellent hunting dog. The Yugoslavian Mountain Hound should be between 18-22 inches tall and weigh 44-55 pounds.
