Siberian Husky Rescue Groups
The Siberian Husky was originated by the Chukchi of northeastern Asia. When changing conditions forced the natives to expand their hunting grounds, they developed a unique breed of sled dog that had the endurance they required. They needed a sled dog which could travel great distances at a decent speed, while carrying a light load in low temperatures without using much energy. The Chukchis maintained the purity of their sled dogs through the 19th century and these dogs were the sole and direct ancestors of the breed we know today as the Siberian Husky. Read More >>
