Korean Mastiff Information
The Korean Mastiff was created by crossing the Tosa Inu with the Dogue de Bordeaux and Neapolitan Mastiff over the last 50 years.
The Korean Mastiff is a very gentle breed. They do wonderful with children, however due to their size they may accidentally knock down young children just by brushing by them. They adore their family and always want to be with them, and even though they are very large dogs, they think they're lap dogs. Since they adore their family so much, they don't like to be left alone for long periods of time and may become destructive to show their unhappiness.
Males should stand 25.5 to 30 inches tall and weigh around 160 - 185 pounds. Females are 23.5 to 27 inches tall and weigh 145 - 165 pounds. Their coats are short and shiny and can be chocolate, mahogany or red. Since they have a great deal of wrinkles they will need weekly cleaning of the skin folds and bathing with an anti-bacterial shampoo monthly. Nail trimming and ear cleaning as needed.
