Grande Basset Griffon Vendeen Information
The Grande Basset Griffon Vendeen originated in France in the 1700's. Both Basset forms are descended from the Grand Griffon Vendeen. The Basset Griffon Vendeen differs from the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen only in size.
White is usually the main color in the bi and tri color forms. They are very active dogs and are valued for their rabbit hunting skills. They should stand 15 to 16 inches tall and weigh between 40 - 44 pounds.
Another name for the Grande Basset Griffon Vendeen is the Large Vendeen Griffon.
