Finnish Hound Information
The Finnish Hound originated in Finland in the 1700's. This breed has a mixed ancestry. A variety of English, Swiss, German, and Scandinavian hounds have contributed to its development.
The Finnish Hound is a relatively large hound and is longer than it is tall. It has a narrow head with a prominent nose, large pendulous ears, which gives it a rather charming appearance.
The Finnish Hound is a keen hunter in the summer but prefers the hearth in winter.
They should be between 22 to 24 and a half inches tall and weigh around 55 pounds. The Finnish Hound is also called the Suomenajokoira.
