Cocapoo
Cocapoo

The Cocapoo is a mix of a Cocker Spaniel and Poodle. The "Breeders" claim that you are getting the best of both breeds, but in reality, no one really knows what you will get. This is a mixed breed, plain and simple. You could get a dog that looks exactly like a Poodle or a Cocker, or one that doesn't resemble either of the two breeds very well. The Poodle does not shed, but the Cocker Spaniel does- so it's a gamble if you are looking for a dog that has no shedding.

It is a well known fact that Cocker Spaniels are prone to horrible skin conditions. It is very important that the parents of the Cocapoo have all their health screenings done prior to being bred. You should also be able to view the parents, and be certain to check the Cocker Spaniels skin for any flaking, excessive oils, etc. This will give you some idea of what the puppies skin may be like.

It's your choice, you could either go to a Cocker or Poodle rescue group or humane shelter and get a Schnoodle for a small adoption fee (and the dog will be vaccinated, temperment tested, and spayed/neutered), or you can pay $1000 or more to get one from a breeder.....

You should also keep in mind that both the Cocker and Poodle can have horrible temperments if they are from bad breeding- Those who breed correctly would never breed a dog with a bad temperament. You should be very aware of this especially if you plan on having this dog around children.
