chorkie

The Chorkie is a cross between a Yorkshire Terrier and a Chihuahua. Since both of these breeds are very small dogs, the Chorkie is also very small. The coat can vary depending on the sire and dam. Yorkshire Terriers have a long flowing coat, and the Chihuahua can either have a smooth coat or a long coat. If a long coated Chihuahua was used in the mix, it is likely that you will have a dog with a long coat. Colors can vary as well, you could have a dog with the colors of a Yorkshire Terrier, it could have coloring like the Chihuahua which include fawn, sand, chestnut, silver and steel blue, as well as black & tan and parti-colored.

Since this is a mixed breed, there is no telling on what type of coat or structure the puppies will have.

Since this dog is so small, it is not recommended for those with small children under 10 years old. These dogs can be seriously hurt if dropped or tripped over. They can even harm themselves by jumping off of furniture.

For further information on the breeds involved in this mixture, please view the Chihuahua Profile and the Yorkshire Terrier Profile
