Central Asian Shepherd Dog Information
The Central Asian Shepherd Dog was originally found protecting the flocks and property of nomadic tribesman of Central Asia, and dogs of this type can still be found guarding flocks in countries such as Afghanistan, Iran, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The harsh climate in which the breed evolved has produced a powerful, massive dog with a mind of it's own. They have proven to adapt to the bitter cold windy temperatures to extremely hot and dry climates.
They are steady, even-tempered dogs, independent minded, that is devoted to it's family. They are very suspicious of strangers-people and animals. These dogs require early extensive socialization as well as patient consistent training.
They are large dogs (typically 100 pounds or more) that adapt easily to different climate conditions.
Color can be White, black, gray, straw, ginger (rusty), graybrown, brindled, piebald and speckled.
