Caravan Hound Information
Caravan Hound is a very rare, ancient breed that is a native of India. It is thought that the Caravan Hound descended from the Saluki and Afghan Hound, which were brought to their region by the Pathans, Arabs, Persians and Afghans.
The Caravan Hound is a working hound. They excel in field performance under conditions that would not be tolerated by most other breeds. Their physical strength and incredible speed topped off with a great deal of stamina allow them to catch and kill many types of game, from rabbits to deer.
The Caravan Hound needs a great deal of space to exercise and is not recommended for apartment living.
The Caravan Hound is actually not a real friendly dog- they do not like to be handled by strangers at all. They're not aggressive, but they just don't care for those who are not in his family.
