The Bully Kutta

 Bully Kutta
USA Bully Kutta

The Bully Kutta is sometimes referred to as the Bully Cutha, South Asian Mastiff, Pakistani Bully Dog, or the Pakistani Mastiff. They were developed during the British Colonial rule in India and were used primarly for sporting purposes. They are typically found today in areas belonging to Pakistan.

All Bully Kutta's have English Bull Terrier blood as well as blood from the crossings of several other British breeds such as English Mastiffs, Pointers and several types of British hunting dogs.

The Bully Kutta is a victim of history in todays Pakistan. The majority of the dogs are pets or used as guard dogs. But a few find themselves in the hands of criminals who choose to use them for dogfighting, which is illegal in Pakistan. The authorities in Pakistan are doing what they can to put an end to this.

The Bully Kutta has a short smooth coat that is usually predominantly white in color, however fawn, black and harlequin colors are also found. The males are 30 to 42 inches tall and females should be 30-36 inches tall. They usually weigh 150 to 170 pounds and can reach upwards of 200 pounds, especially for males.

Bully Kutta's are not recommended for first time dog owners, or timid dog owners. With their size and great strength, it is best that the owner is experienced in the type of training that these dogs need.

Reputable breeders of these dogs will be cautious on who they sell one of their puppies to. These dogs have a history of being used in dog fights, and reputable breeders will not want one of their puppies placed in that situation.
