Broholmer Information
The Broholmer originated in the 1700's in Denmark. They are the result of crossings between English Mastiffs and local dogs in Germany. During World War II, the breed became a victim of the war and nearly went extinct. The Broholmer was saved by a group of Danish enthusiasts after a few dogs were located.
These are very large dogs-they typically are 27.5 inches tall at the withers and weigh between 90-130 pounds. Their coats are short and harsh, coloring can be light or brownish yellow, or black. Some white markings can be found on the coat, and some also have a black mask.
The Broholmer is a family dogs, working dog and a guard dog.
